About the service

What counts as a dental emergency?

A dental emergency is any problem that needs attention quickly, like severe pain, a broken tooth, or swelling. At Bevan Dental, our emergency dental care in Napa focuses on getting you out of pain first, then fixing the problem properly.

  • A severe or throbbing toothache
  • A broken, chipped, or cracked tooth
  • A knocked-out or loose tooth
  • Swelling in your gums or face
  • A lost filling or crown

What to do right away

Call us at (707) 255-3007 during office hours, Monday to Thursday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. We'll get you in as soon as we can. If a tooth is knocked out, hold it by the top, not the root, and keep it in milk until you get here.

What happens at your emergency visit

  1. A focused exam. We find the source of the problem, often with a quick X-ray.
  2. Pain relief first. We numb the area and relieve your pain.
  3. A clear plan. Dr. Bevan explains what he sees and your options.

Follow-up care may include a filling, a crown, or a root canal.

Visiting Napa Valley?

When to go to the emergency room

If you have swelling that affects your breathing or swallowing, or bleeding that won't stop, go to the nearest emergency room right away. Once you're safe, call us to take care of the tooth.

“I'd rather tell you the truth than talk you into something. If you're nervous, we slow down and keep things gentle. If something can wait, I'll tell you it can wait. After more than 25 years, I've learned that being honest and gentle is its own kind of warmth.”
